CIVIL SERVICE EXAM POLICE OFFICER
IRWIN BOROUGH
Applications are being accepted for qualified individuals to take the Civil Service Exam for the position of Full Time Patrolman for the Borough of Irwin. Applications will be available from 0830-1600 hours, Monday through Friday, starting December 2, 2024 through December 30, 2024, at the Irwin Borough Municipal office located at 424 Main Street, Irwin, PA 15642. Qualified
applicants must pass a written exam and physical agility test. The written test will be given on January 18, 2025 at The Norwin High School located at
251 McMahon Drive, North Huntingdon, PA, 15642 at 0900 hours.
The physical agility test will be at a later date.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
U.S. Citizen. High School graduate or equivalent. 21 years of age. PA Act 120 (if completed) or prior to appointment. Valid PA drivers license.
Completed applications must be received at the Irwin Borough
Municipal Office no later than 1500 hours on December 30, 2024. Facial hair and visible tattoos are permitted, except for face or anything
deemed racist or derogatory.
FULL TIME BENEFITS:
Longevity after two years of service. Shift Differential Pay. Extra detail overtime events. 11 Paid Holidays. A $1000 uniform allowance paid to you in the first pay of the new year. Full Healthcare Benefits, Dental and Vision Care Plan. (If healthcare is not needed there is an in lieu of option.) Life Insurance. Fully funded pension. Minimum retirement age of 55 and 25 years of consecutive full-time service. 457 B option as well. Credit Union. Comp Time. (10) Sick Days a year which can accumulate. (5) Vacation Days upon hiring. (10) Vacation Days after your first year of service. (5) Personal Days a year. $5,000.00 Sign on Bonus over 4 years.
