The Town of Winter Park is recruiting a Police Sergeant to join the Fraser Winter Park Police Department. The mission of the Police Department is serving others to make a difference, and the department seeks to achieve that mission by serving as an example of excellence in promoting trust and mutual respect with our employees, our citizens, and the community. We endeavor to work together to develop partnerships to solve problems, reduce crime, and make the towns of Fraser and Winter Park a better place to work, live, and visit. The Police Sergeant plays a key role in achieving this mission by performing law enforcement supervisory work and ensuring the protection of life and property and the enforcement of laws and ordinances by police officers on assigned watch. Work also involves a variety of administrative duties including making daily work assignments, determining that assigned personnel are available for duty, holding daily roll call sessions, and offering training session on laws and procedures. Reporting to the Police Commander, the Police Sergeant also serves as the Watch Commander and supervises all activities on a shift in addition to patrolling the Town of Winter Park and Fraser.

Minimum qualifications include Colorado Post Certification and Training Peace Officer certification along with five years of progressively responsible related experience. 

The salary range for this position is $104,955 to $136,294 dependent on qualifications; Lateral applicants can be hired anywhere in the range.
